As mentioned above, just like most banks, Regions Bank doesn’t offer cryptocurrency trading directly, as setting up a crypto exchange is quite complex and comes with regulations and extra requirements for the banks.

Luckily for us, there are plenty of cryptocurrency exchanges to choose from that you can use to buy bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency you might want.

Once signed up to an exchange (we’ll be using eToro for our example as it’s a widely trusted and global exchange), you can simply transfer funds from your bank account to the exchange, and trade it for crypto.

How to buy crypto or bitcoin with Regions Bank

There are only 4 steps involved, let’s get started!

1. Choose a cryptocurrency exchange

As mentioned above, we’ll be using eToro for this guide as they are a widely used exchange and have over 50 cryptocurrencies to choose from. They also have a few really neat features like “Copy Trading”, which enables users to copy the trades of popular investors on the platform.

Next up is funding your account. When it comes to depositing money to your eToro account, you have the option to use a bank transfer, PayPal, credit/debit card, and more.

4. Buy crypto

Finally, just go to the eToro Markets section, find the cryptocurrency you would like, and buy it.

Regions Bank currently has four savings accounts.

Regions LifeGreen(r), a checking account that is fee-free and does not require a balance, offers a savings account. The annual percentage yield (APY), is low and is similar to most brick-and mortar banks. Customers who have automated savings transfers to this bank will receive a savings bonus each year.

Regions Savings accounts have a waivevable monthly fee, and a low annual percentage. The only perk of the Regions Savings account is a 10% discount on safe deposit boxes. If that is not what you are looking for, you may want to consider one of the other options or a new bank.

The Regions Savings for Minors account works in the same way as the Regions LifeGreen(r), Savings account for adults. It's designed for children aged 18 and under. There is no minimum balance or monthly maintenance fee, but you will need to open an account with $5.

Only those with a Regions Now Prepaid Visa Card are eligible to open the Regions Now Savings Account. This account is the best option for opening a Regions Bank savings account. There is no maintenance fee and there are no balance requirements. It has a low APY, but it offers a monthly savings bonus and a monthly builder reward if you make deposits.

These accounts may be better suited for those who are looking for savings accounts that offer a higher APY.

Regions Bank offers currently two types of certificates for deposit (CDs)

A Regions CD Account can be opened with terms that range from 7 days to 72 month. If you are interested in CD laddering, this account is worth looking into. Regions Bank might be worth considering if you are looking for terms that are shorter than 3 months or more than 60 months. However, the APYs of online banks are often more competitive than those offered by regional banks.

Only those with a Regions Bank checking accounts are eligible to open the Regions Promotional CD Account. This account has higher APYs, a variety terms, and also has a $10,000 minimum deposit requirement. This is more than many banks.

These banks may be the right fit for you if you are looking for the best CD rates.

Regions Bank gives its customers the option of six checking accounts. Most of them have no fees.

Regions LifeGreen(r), Checking Accounts have a waiveable monthly fee and unlimited check writing capabilities. You can also earn cash back rewards if your Regions CheckCard is or Now Card. You can also earn discounts on loans or relationship rates for savings products.

There is a monthly fee for the Regions LifeGreen eAccess account(r), but this can be waived if you make enough Regions CheckCard purchases or credit card purchases each month. This account is limited to three checks free of charge. After that, you will have to pay a per-check fee.

Regions LifeGreen's preferred checking account is interest-bearing. You also get cash back rewards, and many other benefits. Before you sign up, make sure that you are able to waive the monthly fee. You could lose more with this account if you don't.

Regions LifeGreen(r), Checking Account for Student is designed for students aged 25 and under. There is no monthly maintenance fee, and the account includes check-writing capabilities. This account can be linked to a Regions Bank savings bank account for overdraft protection.

Only people over the age of 62 are eligible for this account. This account is similar to other checking accounts in that it does not have a monthly fee. It also comes with many benefits for partners. These include discounts on loans, safe deposit boxes, as well as relationship rates for savings accounts.

Regions Now Checking(sm), Account charges a lower monthly fee than other Regions checking accounts. However, you cannot waive this. It does have some perks like no overdraft fees that could make up the difference.
