Considering buying Verge? XVG Rundown

Verge, a privacy-oriented cryptocurrency, and Blockchain, seeks to provide a fast, efficient decentralized payments network that improves on the original Bitcoin(BTC). VergePay integrates the anonymity network Tor into the wallet. It also offers the possibility of sending transactions to stealth address addresses.

The project is community-driven and relies on volunteers. It prides itself on being open-source.

Verge was launched as DogeCoinDark in October 2014. It was a fork Peercoin. It was renamed to distinguish it from Dogecoin, with which it does not have a direct connection. The Bitcoin source code is the basis of the project.

According to the "blackpaper", Verge was founded to fulfill Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's vision for a decentralized trustless electronic payment system that provides more privacy than Bitcoin.

Verge uses a number of privacy features to achieve this goal. Verge automatically routes traffic from and to its vergePay wallet via the Tor network. This anonymizes traffic and masks IP addresses. Dual-key stealth addressing is also available. Senders can create unique wallet addresses for recipients to protect their privacy. Atomic Swaps are used to power trustless peer to peer cross-blockchain transactions.

Verge is a platform that promotes mainstream adoption. The Verge Core team seeks strategic partnerships to expand its use and awareness. It sponsors professional sportspeople and has partnered and facilitated transactions with platforms like the payments and rewards platform MobiePay and ATM provider MeconCash and a blockchain-based online gambling platform crazy8Token.

The Verge Core team often depends on community support and crowdfunding to scale, market, and pursue partnerships. The project raised 75million XVG ( roughly $7million at the time) in April 2018 to pay for integration with a major payment processor.
