1. Choose a cryptocurrency exchange
Finding a crypto exchange isn’t that hard. There are plenty of big players out there that have been around for quite some time.
This is where our comparison tables can help. The important factors to look for are fees, security, and if they have PIVX of course.
2. Sign up with the crypto exchange
Signing up with any of the major exchanges is generally very easy. The initial sign up should be very fast, and even the verification processes are very well set up these days.
3. Fund your account
Next, you would need to fund your account with either fiat money (USD, AUD, GBP, CAD, etc) or another cryptocurrency like BTC or ETH. This process should again be straightforward and easily done using one of the bigger trading platforms.
4. Buy PIVX
Now that you have what you need to buy PIVX, head over to the market or buy section of the cryptocurrency exchange and buy some PIVX.
If the crypto exchange doesn’t have any PIVX on offer, for most cryptocurrencies you can buy Ethereum instead, transfer it to a decentralized exchange like Uniswap (check if Uniswap has PIVX first), and trade your Ethereum for PIVX.

Considering buying PIVX? PIVX Rundown
Protected Instant Verified Transaction (or eXchange) (PIVX), launched January 30th, 2016, is a decentralized, MIT licensed open-source, fair-launch blockchain/cryptocurrency project managed, developed, governed, and stewarded by a community driven decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). It was designed, engineered and tested with advanced cryptography protocols in order to provide financial data protection for users. PIVX stands for Financial Data Protection.
PIVX is fundamentally based on Bitcoin's source code, but it has been subject to significant custom development and integrations. PIVX utilizes a Proof of Stake consensus protocol (PoS), which is paired with the native cryptocurrency "PIV". PIVX has been a pioneer in the Proof of Stake consensus algorithm. PIVX's PoS is enhanced with the Time Protocol version 2 and Cold Staking functionality. This allows for greater security and the possibility to receive staking rewards.
PIVX users' financial data protection is protected by an open-source, highly customized implementation of Sapling's zero-knowledge succinct and non-interactive argumentof knowledge (zkSNARKs). This protocol, known as SHIELD, protects all transactions.
PIVX also complies with all Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing requirements (AML/CFT), as governed by Financial Action Task Force. These regulatory bodies regulate and enforce laws and regulations regarding the legality, use, transmission, and legality digital assets, as well as the data that is required for their use.
PIVX incorporates additional features, including a 2nd level of functionality through a Masternode Network that provides decentralized governance mechanism for voting. PIVX is currently developing new features such as the Deterministic Masternode lists, Long Living Masternode Quorums(LLMQs), and more.
The PIVX supply is a direct result a fixed/static block emission rate and any monthly budget allocation payments. PIVX has a dynamically calibrated currency supply. This is controlled by the network burning 100% of transaction fees. PIVX is an independent blockchain that does not accept payment or application. PIVX uses its native cryptocurrency, (PIV), as a way to protect rights, enable privacy, exchange digital currency quickly, as well as as the reward for those involved in the creation, maintenance, decentralization, and governance of the PIVX network protocol. Individuals who wish to join the network can purchase and/or obtain PIV.
PIVX's monetary policy is intended to create a sustainable infrastructure service that can support scalable, distributed, resilient node infrastructure. This allows for private transactions worldwide, without the need for astronomical Quantitative Exchange (QE), and the consequent devaluation of native coins.
PIVX is a DAO that uses a network of masternodes to allow the operation of various apps, services, treasury management and community governance. PIVX includes a built-in governance system that allows masternode owners and users to vote for or against any proposal.
PIVX (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a community-driven, self-funded organization.
PIVX can self-fund all development projects and support activities for the network through monthly treasury payments. These payouts are based upon community votes.
PIVX can burn 100% of transaction fees.
PIVX is a leader in Proof of Stake Privacy/User data Protection. To stake, you only need 1 PIV.
PIVX uses a Tier 2 layer to its network and deploys masternodes for governance. 10,000 PIV is required to run a masternode.
PIVX claims to have many blockchain and cryptocurrency firsts.
- Masternodes' first Proof of Stake project
- First Proof of Stake project using Blockchain-based governance
- First Proof of Stake project using blockchain-based community self-sustainable financing
- First Proof of Stake coin to Control inflation by burning all transaction fees
- First Proof of Stake project for Zerocoin protocol implementation
- First Crypto project to have its main site natively translated into 30+ languages
- First Proof of Stake project for private staking
- First ever successful implementation of zk–SNARKs based Sapling privacy protocol using Proof of Stake blockchain
