How to Buy eCash – 4 Easy Steps
1. Choose a cryptocurrency exchange
Finding a crypto exchange isn’t that hard. There are plenty of big players out there that have been around for quite some time.
This is where our comparison tables can help. The important factors to look for are fees, security, and if they have eCash of course.
2. Sign up with the crypto exchange
Signing up with any of the major exchanges is generally very easy. The initial sign up should be very fast, and even the verification processes are very well set up these days.
3. Fund your account
Next, you would need to fund your account with either fiat money (USD, AUD, GBP, CAD, etc) or another cryptocurrency like BTC or ETH. This process should again be straightforward and easily done using one of the bigger cryptocurrency exchanges.
4. Buy eCash
Now that you have what you need to buy eCash, head over to the market or buy section of the crypto trading platform and buy some XEC.
If the crypto exchange doesn’t have any eCash on offer, for most cryptocurrencies you can buy Ethereum instead, transfer it to a decentralized exchange like Uniswap (check if Uniswap has eCash first), and trade your Ethereum for eCash.

Considering buying eCash? XEC Rundown
ECash (XEC), a rebranded version Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA), is a fork from Bitcoin Cash (BTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). It describes itself as a "cryptocurrency designed to be used in electronic cash." ECash is a method of payment that can be used to purchase goods and services. On July 1, 2021, the coin was rebranded and has tried to differentiate itself from its predecessor. "bits" are the base units of eCash and replace the cumbersome decimal places in Bitcoin Cash ABC. You would instead of sending 0.00001000 BTC you would send 10 bits using eCash. ECash incorporates a proof of-stake (PoS), consensus layer called "Avalanche," that is not to be confused with the blockchain Avalanche. eCash declared that all BCHA coins would be converted to XEC in a ratio between one and one million upon rebranding.
Three main improvements are the focus of cryptocurrency developers:
- Transaction throughput scaling from 100 transactions per minute to more than 5 million transactions per hour
- Improve the payment experience and reduce transaction finality times
- Extension of the protocol and establishment of fork-free upgrades
The developers of eCash, (XEC), intend for the coin to support Ethereum Virtual Machines (EVM-compatibility) and be interoperable to the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) sector on Ethereum. eCash's developers have five core missions to make the coin a success:
- Transparency in transactions
- Transparency of transactions
- Transaktions are guaranteed to remain virtually free
- Globally secure transactions enforced with a finality of less than three seconds
- The coin's infrastructure should be considered a public good and funded by its social contract.
The developers of eCash have created an ambitious roadmap with the following goals:
- To enable scalable block processing, canonical transaction ordering is possible
- Schnorr Signatures allow batched signature validation
- Block propagation via graphene and other materials is faster
- UTXO commitment to blockchain pruning and quicker initial sync
- Merklix-Meta Tree for scalable block processing
- Block sizes that adapt to market-driven growth up to 1TB
- These ambitious solutions could propel eCash up to 50 transactions per user per hour for up to 10 million users.
