As mentioned above, just like most banks, Huntington Bank doesn’t offer cryptocurrency trading directly, as setting up a cryptocurrency exchange is quite complex and comes with regulations and extra requirements for the banks.

There are many cryptocurrency exchanges that you can use for buying bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

You can sign up for an exchange (we will use eToro as our example because it is a trusted and worldwide exchange) and transfer funds to the exchange to trade crypto.

How to buy crypto or bitcoin with Huntington Bank

There are only 4 steps involved, let’s get started!

Next up is funding your account. When it comes to depositing money to your eToro account, you have the option to use a bank transfer, PayPal, credit/debit card, and more.

4. Buy crypto

Finally, just go to the eToro Markets section, find the cryptocurrency you would like, and buy it.

Huntington is an option for those who live in the Midwest or the South and prefer to bank in person. The bank offers a free, no-frills checking account, overdraft forgiveness, and an all-day deposit option that extends the deposit deadline to midnight on business days.

Huntington National Bank offers consumer-friendly banking products, as well as a network of over 1,100 branches, mainly in the Midwest and South.

Huntington offers three types of checking accounts: Asterisk Free Checking, Huntington 5 and Huntington 25.

Asterisk-Free checking is a free, no-frills account. The account does not require a minimum deposit and there is no monthly maintenance fee.

Huntington 5 Checking, an interest-bearing account, waives fees up to five ATM withdrawals each month and offers other benefits. If you have $5,000 in combined accounts, the account's $5 monthly fees can be waived.

Huntington 25 Checking has the highest APY of all Huntington's checking account. The $25 monthly service fee is waived if there is a minimum balance of $25,000 across all accounts. Huntington waives the $3 fee to withdraw cash from ATMs not within its network. It also reimburses ATM owners for any fees they charge.

Huntington offers Premier Savings and Relationship Savings as savings options.

Relationship Savings charges $10 per month. However, this fee can be avoided by having a Huntington checking account or maintaining an average daily balance at $2,500. You only need a penny to open the account and begin earning interest. However, the APY is lower that the national average unless the account is linked with a private client account.

Premier Savings accounts have no maintenance fees and an average daily balance $300. It can also be linked to a qualifying checking or savings account. A $4 monthly fee is charged for any account that is not linked to a qualifying checking account. The account pays an APY below the average national rate. To open an account, you must deposit at least $50

Huntington Bank offers standard CDs that have terms of one month to six year. This gives savers the ability to create a CD ladder of any length. Standard CDs require a minimum $1,000 deposit. A deposit of $100,000 or greater is required to obtain Jumbo CDs.

However, the APYs of standard and jumbo CDs are lower than the national average yield over different term lengths. Huntington does not offer specialty CDs such as bump-up CDs or CDs with no penalty.

Huntington Relationship Money Market account has the highest APY of all bank deposit products. However, it requires a minimum balance $25,000. However, the rate is lower than the national average.

You can check-write privileges with the account and get an ATM card. There is a $25 monthly fee, but you can waive it by maintaining a minimum $25,000 balance or linking to a qualifying checking account.

Huntington Bank excels in many areas. Customers have access 24 Hour Grace, which allows account holders to make a positive deposit and bring it up to date until midnight on the next day if they are overdrawn. Huntington also offers All Day Deposit which extends banking hours until midnight for deposits made at any ATM or via its mobile app. Online bill pay, mobile banking, account alerts and account notifications are additional features. Debit cards can also be linked to digital wallets like Samsung Pay or Google Pay to make purchases using a smartphone.

Every day, customer service is available from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Eastern Time. A virtual assistant is also available.
