Chainlink will roll out staking to LINK holders in order to secure the network, and earn rewards. Chainlink has been working for a staking solution since years. However, oracle networks are not blockchains but a form decentralized computing. Chainlink co-founder Nazarov explained that Chainlink doesn't produce blocks, but rather "make consensus over hundreds of oracle network about price data." He said the team is now satisfied with the security of the consensus mechanism and ready for staking to begin this year.
