Next, you would need to fund your account with either fiat money (USD, AUD, GBP, CAD, etc) or another cryptocurrency like BTC or ETH. This process should again be straightforward and easily done using one of the bigger cryptocurrency trading platforms.

Considering buying Beta Finance? BETA Rundown

Beta Finance allows you to borrow, lend and shorten crypto assets. It provides users with a secure and accessible money market that allows tokens to be listed freely and automatically. Users can also short these tokens. After the launch of Ethereum Mainnet, Beta Finance will launch additional Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions.

There are three options available to users: borrowing, lending and shorting. Lenders can lend crypto assets to any market on Beta Finance, and earn interest. Short-sellers can use collateral to open short positions, while borrowers have the option to take the opposite position. Beta Finance uses automated market makers to route trades, rather than using an order book . The platform will release permissionless money market creation as part of Phase 2.

Beta Finance identified crypto's volatility as a problem for individuals and institutions who want to adopt DeFi. Short-selling is a crucial financial tool that is missing from the DeFi ecosystem. This facilitates market stability, efficiency and transparency. The platform's "1 Click Short" tool makes it easy to do this. It takes just a click to select the DEX to swap through the collateral and stake it with the principal in the shorter position.

Beta Finance uses an isolated collateral model to protect more volatile assets. This means that a collateralized position at the risk of liquidation does no harm to another position. Beta Finance initially supports ETH, USDC , USDT , and AI as valid collateral. The community will be able to vote for additional collateral support during Phase 2. Collaterals can be subject to different collateral factors. Stablecoins have a collateral element of 90% while ETH has a collateral aspect of 80%.

Assets can be subject to different asset levels. Stablecoins, which are safe assets, have a loan to value ratio of 75%. However, more volatile assets have a ratio of 50%. Meme coins, which are the most volatile asset, have a 20% LTV. Beta's market may have a compromised asset, but assets remain safe because of the isolation collateral model.
